BESPOKE ELOPEMENT EXPERIENCES + PHOTOGRAPHY

GET AN AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO TRULY JUST “GET YOU”

We got started photographing couples and traditional weddings in 2017,
but it made us so sad to see couples stressed out to the max on their
wedding day, rushing around, and hardly getting to spend any actual time
with their partner or their guests. After photographing a few elopements
and seeing how elopements allow couples to have an intentional day where
they can slow down and really soak it all in, we switched to photographing
only elopements in 2019 and haven’t looked back.

VALERIE: SHE/HER

I worked my way through high school to save up for my
first trip abroad – Germany. I spent three glorious weeks
exploring the country and practicing my language skills,
and I returned home with a travel bug that has never
since been sated. My love for photography grew from my
love for travel. I wanted to learn how to better document
my experiences abroad, and so my Christmas present to
myself one year was a DSLR. I’ve also been working in
mental health for eight years and am a trained couples
and family therapist; it was only natural that I fell in love
with capturing love. This passion, combined with my
passion for travel and adventure naturally led to me
decision to focus on being an elopement photographer.

MICHaeL: HE/HIM

My passion for travel started from a very young age when my
mom would take me on planes and I would be giddy beyond
belief. This sparked my interest in foreign countries which lead
to my main focus of study in college; languages. I’m always
looking to practice with others, especially while on the road.
My passion for photography came next when my uncle gifted
me my first camera, which mysteriously disappeared my 3rd day
into a yearlong trip. Not having a camera felt like a piece of me
went missing for that entire year. I dove right back into
photography when I returned home. After meeting Lynn, I fell in
love with not only her, but couples photography as well. My
passion for my work as an elopement photographer stems from genuine connections to the couples and getting to know and show
their love story through magical photos that will last a lifetime.

MEET NEVILLE

LOVES: FRESH CATNIP & LONG NAPS IN THE SUN HATES: DOGS & LASER POINTERS

We can’t forget about our fluffy angel baby!
Neville’s 9 years old, and is of course named
after Neville Longbottom. He’s absolutely
massive (we suspect he may be part Maine
Coon) and a complete sweetheart. The day
Valerie brought him home when he was just a
kitten, she tried to take some photos of him,
but he wouldn’t sit still. After a few attempts
of setting him back in place, she waited to
see where it was he wanted to go - he came
right over and curled up by my side. All he
wanted to do was snuggle. It’s safe to say we
are 1000% obsessed with him.

CONNECTION

We don’t just pose you to make you
look cute and in love. Instead, we
spend time getting to know you so we
can give direction and get you
interacting in such a way that your
own unique love for each other
naturally emerges. We believe our job
as your elopement photographer is to
lead you to experience real emotions
in the moment, and to walk away
feeling connected to one another.

INCLUSIVITY

Social justice is so important to us in
both our professional and personal
lives, and we do our best to verify that
this is true for all vendors we recommend
as well. We are active believers
in body positivity, that love is love,
Black lives matter, and no human being
is illegal. We are for the couples who
share these values.

ENVIRONMENTALISM

Taking care of this earth is an important
part to being able to adventure in
it and have these incredible outdoor
elopement experiences. Given our
own ethical stance, we will not
knowingly photograph clients engaging
in behavior that violates Leave No Trace
(LNT) principles or causes harm to the
environment.

Relationships

Building relationships with our clients is so important to us so we can document the ‘real you.’ We are committed to telling the story of your wedding day authentically as it unfolds, and we strive to create a space that fosters trust, safety, and room for you two to completely be yourselves on your wedding day.

WORK WITH US

our story

Like most millennials, we met online. On Bumble specifically. Original, we know. It ended up taking us 8
months of casually following each other on instagram before we finally met up in real life. Michael was
already into landscape photography, and Valerie had just gotten started with photography a few
months before. The first thing we ever did? Head to Florence, Oregon to take photos on the beach at
sunset. From playing board and card games together and sipping IPAs in (almost) every brewery around
the PNW, we’ve been inseparable ever since. We’ve since continued our passion of travel together,
starting with spending our first Valentine’s Day together in Paris (yeah, we’re a little extra).

WHY WE LOVE ELOPEMENTS

In our first years of business, we got started photographing big, traditional weddings. While we
worked with some truly incredible people and were so honored to be able to document their wedding
days, we also realized some things about big weddings:

In our first years of business, we got started photographing big, traditional weddings. While we worked with some truly incredible people and were so honored to be able to document their wedding days, we also realized some things about big weddings:

>> Couples barely got to spend any real quality time with their guests, let alone with one another
>> The focus of the day often was more about making guests happy than what the couple wanted
>> The planning process often felt stressful and overwhelming

We would meet with couples a week or two before their day to go over all the final details, and the
number of times couples would tell us that they were just excited for this to all be over so they could
relax and go on their honeymoon completely broke our hearts. We truly believe that everyone
deserves a wedding day that they love every moment of, and we found that elopements were the best
way to make that happen. So in spring of 2019, we re-branded and decided to go all-in with
elopements, and we’ve never looked back!

Sounds amazing, we're in

becoming the kingS

After almost 4 years of helping our couples plan their elopement days, we finally eloped ourselves in the dreamiest place we’ve ever been - Alaska! Our experience solidified our belief that eloping is the best way to get married, hands down. We spent the morning in our treehouse-style cabin, getting ready just the two of us. After a tearful first look, we explored some glaciers via Alaska’s best mode of transportation – helicopter! Then we spent the afternoon hiking in the Chugach Mountains with our five best friends for our ceremony. We wrapped up the evening by heading back to our AirBnb for homemade burgers and a late night hot tub soak. It was literally the best day of our lives, and it has made us realize even more exactly how special this job of ours is.
