VALERIE: SHE/HER
I worked my way through high school to save up for my
first trip abroad – Germany. I spent three glorious weeks
exploring the country and practicing my language skills,
and I returned home with a travel bug that has never
since been sated. My love for photography grew from my
love for travel. I wanted to learn how to better document
my experiences abroad, and so my Christmas present to
myself one year was a DSLR. I’ve also been working in
mental health for eight years and am a trained couples
and family therapist; it was only natural that I fell in love
with capturing love. This passion, combined with my
passion for travel and adventure naturally led to me
decision to focus on being an elopement photographer.

My passion for travel started from a very young age when my
mom would take me on planes and I would be giddy beyond
belief. This sparked my interest in foreign countries which lead
to my main focus of study in college; languages. I’m always
looking to practice with others, especially while on the road.
My passion for photography came next when my uncle gifted
me my first camera, which mysteriously disappeared my 3rd day
into a yearlong trip. Not having a camera felt like a piece of me
went missing for that entire year. I dove right back into
photography when I returned home. After meeting Lynn, I fell in
love with not only her, but couples photography as well. My
passion for my work as an elopement photographer stems from genuine connections to the couples and getting to know and show
their love story through magical photos that will last a lifetime.

We can’t forget about our fluffy angel babies!
Neville is 10 years old, and is of course named
after Neville Longbottom. He’s absolutely
massive (we suspect he may be part Maine
Coon) and a complete sweetheart. The day
Valerie brought him home when he was just a
kitten, she tried to take some photos of him,
but he wouldn’t sit still. After a few attempts
of setting him back in place, she waited to
see where it was he wanted to go - he came
right over and curled up by my side. All he
wanted to do was snuggle. It’s safe to say we
are 1000% obsessed with him.

Vin is the newest addition to the family. She's five years old and named after a beloved character from Mistborn (a Brandon Sanderson series.) Though as a rescue, she's gone through a handful of names already, including Luna and Schazi. She is the neediest, squeakiest, snuggliest cat we've ever met. If she had her way, we'd be holding her in our arms or she'd be curled up in our lap 90% of the time. Suffice it to say she has very quickly wormed her way into our hearts.

Building relationships with our clients is so important to us so we can document the ‘real you.’ We are committed to telling the story of your wedding day authentically as it unfolds, and we strive to create a space that fosters trust, safety, and room for you two to completely be yourselves on your wedding day.

In my first years of business, I got started photographing big, traditional weddings. While I
worked with some truly incredible people and was so honored to be able to document their wedding
days, I also realized some things about big weddings:

number of times couples would tell me that they were just excited for this to all be over so they could
relax and go on their honeymoon completely broke my heart. I truly believe that everyone
deserves a wedding day that they love every moment of, and I found that elopements were the best
way to make that happen. So in the spring of 2019, I re-branded and decided to go all-in with
elopements, and I’ve never looked back!

After 4 years of helping our couples plan their wedding and elopement days, I finally eloped myself in the dreamiest place I've ever been - Alaska! Our experience solidified my belief that eloping is the best way to get married, hands down. It was literally the best day of my life, and it has made me realize even more exactly how special this job of mine is.
