Kristen + Zach came down from Portland to Loloma Lodge for their wedding. The lodge is a gorgeous venue along the McKenzie River in Oregon. It’s tucked away deep in the woods, with tons of little log cabins and camping areas throughout. They rented out the entire space for their friends and family who were coming to celebrate their wedding with them! This Loloma Lodge wedding was such a blast, and we’re so happy that we got to be a part of it!
Kristen + Zach are so cheeky and fun! We always have a great time with our couples, but we get especially excited when someone has an offbeat idea. Kristen called us about a week before the wedding to tell us that she was going to surprise Zach by dressing up in an inflatable hippo costume. For their first look. LOL!
It was suuuuper hilarious to see Zach’s reaction when he turned and saw her in a giant hippo costume. It kept the mood light and carefree, and was so much fun to watch. Once Kristen wriggled her way out of the costume, we did their bride and groom photos. Lynn gave them the little speech we always do right before couples photos, and Kristen started to cry happy tears – and then gave Lynn sh*t for almost ruining her makeup. Lol.
The officiant was incredible, and the entire ceremony was peaceful yet fun. After the ceremony, everyone headed back up to the cabins and lodges. Kristen + Zach trailed along hand in hand, enjoying their alone time while they walked back slowly. They mingled with guests, played lawn games, and hung out until it was time for dinner and the reception. The dinner was great and we all had ice cream sandwiches for dessert – which was amazing! It’s your wedding day – if you want to serve ice cream sandwiches, then go for it! (We won’t complain! lol).
They ended the night with dancing, and the party in the woods was so much fun. Kristen + Zach had such a chill day, and because everything was on site they didn’t have to worry about anything.
